Invisalign is one of the newest advances in orthodontics. In addition to metal and clear braces, you can now be a candidate for a clear “invisible” solution. Invisalign is a patented system where 3-D computer imaging is used to create an accurate image of your teeth. A series of custom clear aligners are manufactured that fit over your teeth, and gradually straighten them without the need for metal wires or braces. The Invisalign system has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices worldwide. However, only a certified orthodontist like Dr. Fotovat, can undertake this procedure. Dr. Fotovat was among the first group of doctors to become certified in Invisalign. Dr. Fotovat is an Diamond Provider orthodontist, which means he is among the top orthodontist of all Invisalign Providers in North America and that he has successfully treated more cases than most dentists and orthodontists combined.

How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign uses a series of custom aligners to move your teeth. Each aligner has a specific prescription which is designed by a certified Invisalign specialist like Dr. Fotovat, to move the teeth in a systematic and controlled manner. Each aligner is worn for about two to three weeks before you go to the next set of aligners. Each aligner moves your teeth a little at a time, and as the weeks pass, you see the teeth straightening. The total number of aligners is specific to your individual case and amount of tooth movement required. Dr. Fotovat monitors the progress of your teeth and sees you approximately every 8 weeks. You will be shown how to wear and remove the aligners and to make sure that the aligners are tracking properly. You can be involved with the progress of your teeth by requesting to view the “Clin-check” computer program which will simulate how your teeth should be moving at each stage of your Invisalign treatment process.
